Course overview
I tried to create a course that I would like myself as a learner - loads of information, interactive games and so much more. My main aim was to create a course that is as close to one-on-one lessons as possible. I succeeded!  I have programmed feedback for all the exercises you will find on the platform. To get some extra practice, you will find loads of different games, for example, flashcard memory challenges and crosswords to practise the verb forms, new vocabulary etc. All you need is a computer and an internet connection and you are ready to start. Learning a language has never been easier. Watch the video and see for yourself!

You start off in every chapter with a grammar introduction, you move on to games like crosswords or matching a picture to a word and then you continue with reading and listening exercises, and all that is topped with writing and speaking exercises.And the last two points are what I personally believe what makes this course stand out next to all the other things I mentioned before. So you can record yourself, you can write a text based on certain questions you've been asked, and Dace will read, listen and give feedback to it all as if you were a private student in one of her private classes.

Esme: "My parents were Latvian, I'm sitting on this beautiful textile that my mom brought from Latvia back at the end of Second World War. I grew up with the beautiful sound of spoken Latvian around me. 
Dace obviously has put an enourmous amount of work into it and it's been worthwhile because it hands together really logically as a set of lessons. The important thing is that is has taken the fear out of going back to Latvia.
What's available online is a bit patchy and uneven and sometimes just not very good, Dace's videos are different, they are better,it's good, it's professional and I recommend it.

Čau! Mani sauc Dace. Hi! My name is Dace.
I hold a master's degree in legal translation, but I soon realised that I enjoy teaching more than translating. I have been working in the field of education for 7 years. During this time I have found the best methods which help you understand better the language and fall in love with it. Latvian is my first language and I'm a proud Latvian. Teaching my native language is something I really love doing.

Albert Einstein once said:" If you cannot explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough." I cannot agree more. Grammar can be complicated, but if you understand it well enough, it's actually pretty simple. 

My students trust me from all over the world: Latvia, USA, UK, Japan, Canada, Australia etc. Because of the time difference, some of my students wake up as early as 6 am to study Latvian. I created this online course to help you learn Latvian anytime and anywhere you want! Sounds good, right?
